Armadillo Suites is a family company founded with the purpose of providing affordable accommodations to guests from international companies or tourists visiting our beautiful city. Both of our locations are in Guatemala City, just 45 minutes from Antigua Guatemala!

The armadillo in the Mayan culture is seen as a sign of prosperity and good fortune. Years ago, while making renovations to the building to accomodate a new area, an ancient hand-crafted wooden armadillo was found. The finding was a great surprise and would become of great importance also; from that time our company still holds it for a very special gift.

In Armadillo Suites Z.9 you can find a collection of armadillos from different parts of America (Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Guatemalan highlands, Kentucky (USA), South Carolina (USA), among others. Hosts and friends have contributed to the collection for many years. At the main entrance of the two establishments you will find our signature armadillo. The armadillo in Zone 9 was carved by a guest named Philippe Peyron, a French artist. The armadillo in the Airport location was carved using rocks from Guatemalan ancient mines.
